Crypto and Web 3 will never be mainstream

Yes the title is a bit provocative but as the years go by I think is as evident as ever that crypto in the sense of having your cold or hot wallet (especially cold wallets) will never be mainstream, even cex that are way more user friendly like binance (from my experience the most user friendly) will be used way more in comparison but not by the normal person, I think It would be used only as backend or as something like ETF, they defeat the purpose of decentralization but there's nothing we can do. The only example that comes to mind is something similar to gold, it's very unusual for normal people to use it or buy it physically and keeping it in they're safe at home but it's still used behind the scene, buying something that represents it online or inside normal object. What do you think, will the normal people change in the future or web3 will remain a niche or ho away?
