My way of approximating the potential high of a coin or token.

Once you figure out which coins or tokens that you want to own, and I am sure you have several, you then need to figure out which coins or tokens you need to allocate most of your money.

As an example, we can see that Filecoin hit an all time high of $237 USD back in April 2021. At the current price of $8.85, you may think that it can go up 26.8 times. But in the near future, it will not. All these coins and tokens have much more in circulation than they did during the last bull run, and so if Filecoin went up 26.8 times now then it will have a marketcap of $125 billion which is way more than the marketcap of Tether (USDT) which is the #3 coin in marketcap ranking.

What I do is look at the marketcaps of the top 10 coins/tokens and figure out how many times more my coins or tokens need to go up by in order to reach the same marketcap. For example, if Avalanche has a marketcap of $20.724 billion and it is in #10 spot then Filecoin with a marketcap of $4.652 billion, needs to go up by (20.724 divided by 4.652) 4.4549 time. In other words, at current price of $8.85, it needs to go up to (8.85 x 4.4549) $39.43 Is this possible? Sure. Do not look at the all time high of $237 and expect Filecoin to get there again. But it can get to $39.43. So if you invest $1000 into Filecoin, it may go to $4455, if it makes it to the top ten at current prices.

Of course this is not exact science and of course even the top 10 coins and tokens will also go up in value and so will their marketcaps. But it will give you an idea of how to divide up your investments. This is how I allocate my money as I buy $100 worth every so often to dollar-cost-average. A good example of one of my top coins is Graph. I allocated most of my money into this because I figured at that time, it had the most upside potential, and I am already up 3 times.
