The only way crypto gaming could see mass adoption is through free to play model with play to earn business design. Not many (closer to none) people would make an initial investment to play into a game which hardly feels like a 2001 game.

Most of the blockchain based games requires an initial investment in the form of either NFTs that you would need to buy from their marketplace or their native coins/tokens. Without them you can't even get a taste of how that game feels.

Since we are at a very nascent stage and everyone wants to get in early (not to forget that we are in a bull run for months now)- these projects are even surviving, otherwise with the kind of gameplay that they offer, any investment (expense really) would seem high. The only thing working for them is the belief that the game would become really popular in the future, and then their investments would grow exponentially.

But how?

Once this bull run settles down- there would be no liquidity in these games, no one willing to invest further. What will happen then?

They'll need to make their model free to play so that anyone sitting from the US to Vietnam can play the game without needing to invest anything in it and have a 'play to earn' theme incorporated to the gameplay. Monetizing it could be their choice (by making grinding buyable through investments) but the accessibility should be with everyone.
